Its skin rotten, purple with decay and the smell… it smelt like rotten meat.

I wonder how it came to be this way – poachers? Maybe a forgotten victim of prey even, but this just wasn’t right. Killed so young, full of potential.

I touch its dead skin, it feels like an avocado, wrinkly, yet the only hard part in the skin is where the bones are placed, the rest is fragile and thin. The meat is already gone, I can tell by the way the bones stick out like seahorse bumps.

Once beautiful, now ugly, the creature is an elephant.
