WHAT HAPPENED TO JOE’S FRIEND?
Wet, cold, hungry, exhausted, we’re walking through the dense rainforest looking for a way out of this horrible place.
Steve and I had been lost for six or seven days now. We got separated from our tour guide when he got swept down a fast, raging river.
Walking just never seemed to stop. It felt like hours for us to get to the top of the mountain to see where we were.
I came to a bit of flat ground and looked around for Steve. I called out to him, feeling so terrified “I’m trying to hold on!” he shouted.”
Very interesting story, Joe. Clear and easy to follow. You build the suspense as you describe the situation. It looks really promising when you talk about the flat ground at the top of the mountain and then, oh no! Great suspense. Good descriptions in the story too. I liked ‘fast, raging river’ in particular
