WHAT DOES EMMA SEE?
Looking out into the misty night sky, I see an old rickety tree tilting on its side, with the big bright light of the full moon shining through it.
I see big rocks in the misty background. I feel the cold wind blowing against my face as I watch the old tree go from side to side when the wind hits it.
I watch it slowly uproot from the ground and suddenly the harsh cold wind stops while the fog slowly eases away and the stars come out making it a perfect starry night and the rickety old tree stays.
EMMA – YEAR 7
Hi Emma!
I really liked your story. It sounds like it was a very calm night. Your story hooked me right away. I wanted to keep reading. How did you come up with this story? Have you experienced this before?

Hi Emma
What a beautiful atmospheric piece you have woven in your writing for the 100 word challenge this week. You have lots of lovely descriptions and I really loved your ending where you describe “a perfect starry night” and the best bit “the rickety old tree stays”. Great writing!
