FORGOTTEN, BY HOLLY
“Beep beep”
I sprang out of bed, turned my alarm off, checked my calendar. There was no doubt today was the day.
I grabbed my bag and keys, jumped straight into the car, keys into the ignition and sped off.
Arriving at the airport, I checked in, heading through security.
I decided to make a quick call, but where was my phone? Had I forgotten it? Where did I last have it? There was no time to think – there was my gate and it was time to board.
How will I get by in a foreign country without my phone?

Congratulations on your response to this week’s challenge Holly. The use of first person gave the impression of a personal recount. I think everyone would connect with your text. I can’t imagine being in a foreign country without my phone! I liked the way you structured your sentences. You evoked the excitement comes with getting to the airport, and getting ready for the travel adventure. The change to questioning gave that feeling of dread – of not knowing where your phone is. Your choice of vocabulary was measured. I enjoyed reading your text. 🙏😊
