Bleary-eyed, I went downstairs for breakfast … the house was empty, even the furniture had gone.

My hair stood on end, a shiver raced down my spine and a lump came to my throat. The lights flickered and then went off, then the loud sirens started – it was happening, we knew it wouldn’t be the last time.

My mum had a frantic look on her pale face, “but where did it go?” she shouted.

I began to search the house uncontrollably, desperate to find any trace of our belongings. My breathing quickens and I soon fall into an abysmal trance.
