LACHLAN HAS BEEN OUT RUNNING!
My pink Nikes pounded on the dusty gravel road as I ran along through the savanna. Giraffes towered over the trees munching away on greens, birds sang from the nearby trees. I continued running along then a painful cry echoed through the valley.
My hair stood on end, my entire body froze and went rigid. My head swivelled to the side to where the scream came from. I cautiously walked over wondering what I was going to see.
A wall of shrubs loomed up ahead. I slowly separated the bushes and saw something that made my heart skip a beat.
LACHLAN – YEAR 8
Lachlan,
Your piece is gripping me. I think you did a fine job incorporating the focus words into a well-written story. I hope I will read more from you again soon.
My heart is skipping a beat awaiting, too.
